  • M&E TAKES BEANTOWN
From Glory Landon, US Program Assistant: I recently traveled to Boston (Go Sox!) to help train our partner organization, Statewide Advocacy for Veterans Empowerment (SAVE), in monitoring and evaluation. Monitoring and evaluation is the way we help organizations measure program success, and whether they’re demonstrably helping the population they are serving. Training was a week long and covered a lot of information, but it was fun to be around young veterans.  They’re easy to interact with, and they relate well to one another. This is why, in my opinion, SAVE is able to help veterans so effectively—they are veterans themselves so they provide real peer support, making everyone comfortable and at ease. The peer support model that Survivor Corps uses with all of our partners—the idea of someone who has been there and understands, and who is giving back to another individual with similar experience—makes all the difference for a veteran recovering from their deployment. Overall, the training was a huge success!
